What is CBD?

CBD is shorthand for Cannabidiol. It is one of the naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis plants, both hemp and marijuana varieties.

How does CBD work?

The endocannabinoid system, though relatively newly discovered, is involved with regulating many basic functions of the human body. Some of these functions include metabolism, mood, memory, immune response and inflammation. The endocannabinoid system is also responsible in regulating the body’s general state of equilibrium and well-being. This system is activated by endocannabinoids naturally produced by the human body. However, the system will also recognize and respond to plant-based phytocannabinoids, such as CBD, from external sources. Various receptors located throughout the body, CB1 and CB2, respond similarly to both compounds when introduced to the body helping it to restore and maintain overall balance.

How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?

Each and every one of us absorb and react to CBD differently. Like any other vitamin or supplement routine, it might take some time to begin noticing any significant changes. Some users obtain results immediately. Most, however, take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks before the body begins to respond. The key to results, however, is consistency in use.

Can CBD get you “high?”

No, CBD will not get you “high.” CBD is non-psychoactive, which makes it ideal for people seeking the potential benefits without the mind-altering effects of THC.

What is Isolated Hemp Extract?

Isolated Hemp Extract is simply another term for CBD Isolate. Utilizes 99% pure CBD in its Isolated Hemp Extract products.

What’s the difference between Isolate, Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum?

The terms Isolate, Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum describe different types of CBD products. Isolate is the purest form of CBD. It is produced by removing all other compounds from the plant including the terpenes, cannabinoids and other plant material. Quality Isolate is 99% pure.

Full Spectrum is just the opposite. Full spectrum products retain all of the terpenes and cannabinoids of the hemp plant. This not only includes CBD, but other cannabinoids such as CBN, CBG and THC.

Broad Spectrum is a mix between Isolate and Full Spectrum. Broad Spectrum products not only contain CBD, but also have a variety of terpenes and other cannabinoids. The only difference is that the THC is completely removed.

Is Hemp Seed Oil and Hemp Extract the same?

Absolutely not. Hemp seed oil is extracted from the hemp seed by means of cold pressing. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids, especially Omega-6 and Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. It also contains high levels of Vitamin E. Hemp seed oil contains no CBD and is relatively inexpensive when compared to Hemp Extract.

Hemp Extract refers to the cannabinoids and terpenes that are removed from the aerial parts of the hemp plant (flower and leaves). Hemp extract contains CBD and can be classified as either full spectrum, broad spectrum or isolate.
